Meet the producers behind Ethiopia Guji Shakiso Hoqata Reserve
Our latest release, the Ethiopia Guji Shakiso Hoqata, is brought to you by our friends at Harvestbelt and sourced from the esteemed Nardos farm in Ethiopia. Nardos Exporting Company, a third-generation family business, has roots tracing back to 1960 in the Guji zone, where the family began their coffee-growing journey. Under the leadership of Mr. Aklilu Kassathe, Nardos restructured in 1998 and now stands as one of Ethiopia’s most reputable coffee companies.
With a focus on high-quality coffee, Nardos produces an impressive 2,000 tons of washed and natural coffees each year. The company collaborates with over 1,300 local growers who adhere to RFA, UTZ, and CAFE Practices certifications. Nardos is also deeply committed to social responsibility, as seen in their partnerships that support education and health initiatives for coffee-producing communities. Notably, Nardos helped establish a library and hygiene projects in Hagere Mariam, benefiting thousands.
This coffee is grown on 4 hectares in Dimtu Kebele, West Guji, at elevations of 2,000-2,480 MASL. To ensure the highest quality, Nardos operates several washing stations across West Guji, including Wate, Udo Adama, and Suke. We’re proud to bring this exceptional coffee to you—experience the rich heritage and flavor in every cup.
