Aircooled Assembly

If you've seen the Marvel Avengers movies, you'll know the battle cry "Avengers Assemble!" 

Well, we're fond of aircooled vehicles. Cafe Rider founder has a beautiful Porsche 993 which he adores and it always brightens our day when we step outside and find a classic aircooled car parked up at the Cafe. 

So, we put the call out - anyone with an aircooled car was welcome to join us at the Cafe on the morning of Saturday, Jan 23rd. Word trickled around the local aircooled communities and throughout the car scene. We were warned that the turnout would be larger than usual and the Cafe was prepared accordingly. 

How much is "larger than usual"? 

Well, let's put it like this - every parking spot around the Cafe was taken up! A variety of Volkswagen Beetles took up the space on the footpath closest to the Cafe entrance, with the classic VW bus contingent just behind it. Further afield, the U-turn space was completely filled with aircooled Porsches, a group of which rolled in together. Ed Bear's Morgan 3-Wheeler remained the only aircooled car that didn't have a VW or Porsche badge on it, while attracting everyone's attention all the same. 

As people milled around the various vehicles, the enthusiasm was palpable, reminding us of why we host such events in the first place. The coffee and conversation flowed and by the time we could take a step back, it was already close to 10 am. 

It was truly heartwarming to see the response from the aircooled community and you can be sure we'll be hosting similar events in the future. Stay tuned!
