Custom Motorcycles
There’s something intoxicating about swinging your leg over a motorcycle, firing it up, twisting the throttle and feeding that need for speed that exists inside us. We can go on romanticizing motorcycling for hours, but we should probably get to the point…
Motorcycle culture has been a part of the UAE for as long as we can remember. From the motorcycle policemen in the 1970s who used to ride 650cc Yamahas to the big Harley groups that used to and still ride to Fujairah every weekend, the passion for motorcycles is alive and well.
When Café Rider was being conceptualized, co-founder Murtaza Moulvi was unswerving in his commitment to a café that didn’t just carry a motorcycling theme, instead it had to live and breathe motorcycles. To fulfill that purpose, a glass partition was installed at Café Rider, separating a dedicated workspace from the rest of the Café. The idea was to build custom motorcycles, bespoke in every way, strictly tailored to our customer’s vision.
Our first build was Project Zero: a Honda CB with a Smurf-blue tank, a seat upholstered in rich brown leather fitted to a modified frame, clip-on handlebars and mild off-road tires.
Since then, no less than 30 motorcycles have rolled through the workspace at Café Rider, all wearing the coveted “Café Rider Custom” badge and their serial number. Harleys, Hondas, Yamahas, Suzukis, BMWs, Ducatis, Nortons, Triumphs…. you get the idea. If you want to check them out, visit our completed projects.
“Why would you hack up a perfectly good motorcycle,” we hear someone in the back ask. Well, we’ve always been diehard fans of personalization and that’s precisely what we do. Riding a motorcycle is like nothing else, so why shouldn’t the machine reflect its rider’s personality? With an unlimited imagination, our customers quickly realize that every option is on the table when it comes to building their custom motorcycle.
