Flat 6s Flat Whites

Historically, any event that Cafe Rider hosts has always prioritized the community at large. Whether it's a BBQ at the Cafe, one of our Caffeine Cruises to other parts of the UAE, or one of our car events, we've always emphasized that any event that we host should be about the people. A number of friends and customers share these ideals...

Not too long ago, the Porsche brand "RennEleven" relocated its base to Dubai. Sean, its creator, was now looking to host his events in the city and bring Porsche people together. A couple of conversations and a handshake later, we had agreed to host RennEleven's inaugural Dubai event - "Flat 6s Flat Whites." The date was set for Sunday, February 12th, giving us just enough time to make preparations.

On the morning of the event, the Cafe opened early. A few show cars were moved into position - Tom Jones' 964 was placed inside the Cafe, while Martin's Riviera Blue 993 was placed inside the workshop. By 7:30 a.m., we were ready and flat whites in hand, the waiting began...

By 8 a.m. there were 5 cars that has showed up.

By 8:30, there were 15 cars that had showed up.

Something happened around 9 a.m. however. It seemed like the floodgates had been opened, because it seemed like every variety of Porsche in every single colour descended on the Cafe. They came from every direction, in groups and alone, their flat 6 engines announcing their arrival. We filled every single parking space we could muster, directing every new arrival to their very own spot.

By 10:30 a.m., we could take a step back and see what the event had grown into. The Porsche community is one of the most active and dedicated enthusiast groups in the country, and it really showed. Introductions were made, old friends made new ones and a copious amount of coffee was consumed over car conversations.

We're clear about one thing though, the cars may have been numerous, but the way we saw people interacting with one another, that's what made the event a success for us.
